Calcasieu Parish has been controlling mosquitoes since 1975. Our parish covers 1080 sq. miles and has a population of approximately 183,000 people. 
Calcasieu Parish has an abundance of mosquito habitats.
CPMC utilizes an integrated pest management approach to controlling mosquitoes. This includes disease and mosquito surveillance, larviciding and adulticiding, source reduction, and public education programs.
Currently, we employ 18 permanent staff members and approximately 25 seasonal employees during the mosquito season.
